Scissor Sisters's Jake Shears written a new musical adaptation Tales Of The City

Jake Shears is a frontman of the Scissor Sisters band, he has written a new musical adaptation of Armistead Maupin's Tales Of The City.

It's set to run at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco from May 18-July 10.


The production will present to open in San Francisco next month, condenses Maupin's novels into one show.

According to the Rolling Stone reports that it joined themes about gays, bohemians and other outsiders, set in 1970s San Francisco.

Shears said that production also when they receive an email with librettist Jeff Whitty wanted to be.

He said, "I got an email from wondering if I'd be interested in a musical that took place in the Seventies and had kinda fun themes that involved gays, copious drug use and trannies. I said, 'Of course – what is it?'"
